Sorry, I've no exact advice for your problem. I can only say do not continue changing fresh and expensive parts only to break them at the next startup. Find a manual and take a good logical think to find the real problem. Decompression solenoid or lighting system have no effect whatsoever on this kind of mechanical breakage.
Only real culprit I can think of right now is the antikickback system, which I think Savages have, though I canīt be sure as I sold my bike and manual 6 years ago. The system might be similar to Intruder 1400s and it basically prevents a spark occurring whenever the engine turns backwards, as it can do when you stop it. If there's a spark the engine will fire backwards hard enough to shear starter gears. This is only a remote guess, remember, but just have a hard thinking session together with the manual. You've spent a lot of money already so I wish you best of luck.
